powdercoat swingarm?

My buddy and I are debating whether or not it's ok to powdercoat a swingarm. So the question is, does powdercoating a swingarm weaken it?

it wont weaken it, and powdercoat is actually prefered over chrome since if the swing arm cracked its easier to re pc the swingarm.
