So true, Oh so true.

It's just Kawasucki or Susucky to come out with a bike after Honda and Yamaha release their bikes. They take the ideas from the Yammie and Honda bikes and use that as a "base" for their bikes, then make sure everything they do is better than the honda or yamaha.

I'd like to see them come out with their own ideas.

Well now isnt that the pot calling the kettle black.... ::cough::05 EX's::cough:: Who changed their design and added reverse after a decade with out it?

And its Kawazuki... and two minds think better than one...

And didn't the YFZ450 come out before the Honda 450R? Yep, it did... I know, Honda had one in the works, just needed to do a little more R&D... and it's still slower than the YFZ.

Gust seems to do ok on his Susucky... ;)

And that's not all that unusual in business... one company will use ideas from another to hopefully improve their product... you'll learn that in Economics and business courses.

As far as the 400EX goes... If you were the President of the Honda company, and you saw your competitors producing a faster, better bike WITH reverse, you would throw reverse in there so you would hope to keep selling the 400's.

And as far as the 450R goes, you proved my point yourself by saying they are still slower. Maybe not as fast as the YFZ but still original in it's own way. If honda was REALLY copying from Yahama the 450R would perfrom better than the YFZ just like the Z out performs the 400.

I don't know about you but if there were two bikes; one was way better, but it wasn't original and the other was crap I would take the better bike.

BTW: I have always been a honda guy and I passed on the 400ex to get a KFX400.

My point exactly... Honda knows their is a better bike out now, WITH reverse. So who would buy a 400EX that is slower and did'nt have reverse? That's why they added reverse.

If both Suzuki and Kawasaki come out with 450 quads they more than likely will not be the same due to the fact that their 450 bikes are totally different machines I would assume the ATVs would be also. I would look for a Suzuki machine before a Kawasaki machine though, as Kawasaki don't even have their bike out yet.

Your all forgetting to throw artic cat in there .Their one an the same I look to see all three of them maybe suzuki first to have there 450`s out by aug. being 06 models It will be sweat but the ol`400exs are to a great quad also.

I would say, If Suz makes a 450, I would think that Kawi would also put one out, Seeing that they are pretty much the same company right?????

No, they are not the same company, they do share models, but something as important as a 450cc High-Performance quad will not be shared as it will serve as their "icon" quad, the one that defines them. The same reason why Suzuki and Kawasaki's 450 dirtbikes are not going to be anything alike. Totally different in everyway possible. I would assume that the 450 quads will be the same.

the one that defines them

aaah, but hasnt that been the kfx/z 400? you could be right though, with kawi releasing the new 4 banger, they have the motor, so its no telling what will happin

Well for Suzuki its the Z400, but I think Kawasaki is using the KFX700 more for their defining sport quad, which is really dumb if IMHO. I just doubt they would share something of the magnitude of a 450cc Hi-Po quad, but you never know.

suzuki and kawasaki will probably share the same frame and suspension but use there own motor and plastic.

I wouldn't expect any sharing at all going on between Suzuki and Kawasaki when it comes to the 450s, but again I could be wrong.

Having talked to some Suzuki people at the Louisville show last weekend. The new 450 from Suzuki is not done. there are 3 proto-proto types out there someplace. From what I was told it is still in the design stage. gust said that he hasn't been invited to Japan yet to ride the test model. You might see pictures of it next summer if testing goes good. Then what is the releast date is anybodies guess.
Also, Kaw is dropping there support at the GNCC for next year on the 700. I was told this by one of the riders the other night after he got the call from Kaw. If they have a 450 they will be back the next year with support.

not what i've heard. Kawasaki's 450 is supposedly going to be an independent effort...

I can't see Suzuki sharing a bike now with Kawi after all the race support and R&D they are putting in. I think Suzuki is getting ready to grap the market by the balls and I feel they deserve it.
