I am about the install my HRC cam....The manual has a special tool listed for the tensioner. Is this needed? Can someone give me some hints as to dealing with it. Thanks in advance.

just use a little screwdriver instead. You'll probably need someone to hold it though once it's turned cause it'll wanna snap back. I did mine myself but it's alot easier with someone holding it

Anyone else got any info? What about just removing the whole thing and not messing with the adjustment?? TIA

Just use a small screw drive and turn it until it bottoms out and then give a little more at the end and it will stick in the back position. Done it 10 times. I believe its left hand thread also.

Just remove it.
It only takes a second.

If you do this do you still have to mess with the adjustment|?
Thanks

You dont actually adjust it. It is spring loaded so it adjusts itself. To take it off all you do is unbolt it. To put it on you simply take out that small bolt at the end, insert small flat screw driver, Turn it the only way it will go until it stops. Hold it in that position and re-install. once the two 8mm bolts are tight. release the screwdriver, and it is set.
