Got it back yesterday and that damn thing screams. Its like a totally different bike, I miss the little bit of low end i lost (I only trail ride) but it more than made up for it on the top. I can't wait to get my exhaust from HMF next week. Everyone says it should really wake it up. Its definitely a screamer now, but all that torque they get out of those damn exhausts shoudl def help ;) Totally different animal now, I am one happy honda customer! Now all they need is elec start and reverse so i can get one for my girl! LoL j/k i love my kick and will never go back, reverse is overrated

man for the amount of gain you get from the HMF full system as compared to the slip on its well worth it, especially on the 450r. 400ex i'd get a slip on it dont realyl matter to much. this is according to the numbers on hmfs website.

ive heard from the grape vine hat a full system isnt necessary for the 450r b/c the stock eade ris already very large...i'll prob. get a dr. d slip on but I still have alot of time to thinka about it

also one thing your not noticing on the full system dyno, is that they removed the airbox lid, and thats why they got such a large gain with only adding a header pipe. IHM, its a waste of money to get the header pipe unless you have a lot of motor work with a cam and porting.

You guys are correct, the stock head pipe is good for about 50 RWHP. If you start doing a lot of motor mods, mostly headwork you may need a head pipe to take advantage of that but the stock header is already designed by honda to work great with the stock headwork.

**** oh well already ordered it.... wouldnt no airbox lid be the same as the HRC airbox lid?? ... should look pretty cool though ;)

I have the HRC kit with a rossier pipe...runs real strong. When trail/play riding, I put the stock pipe w/ HRC end cap back on... might as well throw the cam in the garbage!! No comparison whats so ever! Stock pipe really chokes it off.

I just ordered the HMF full system and plan on installing the HRC cam. When chatting with HMF they said it lost alot of low end, so I am kinda bummed with that tid bit of information. Just wondering hows it going with the HMF and HRC cam? TIA

mine starts first or second kick every time, dont touch the gas:)

mine will start on the first kick when cold, the problem is keeping it idling after warm-up. Tried adjusting the idle, but it didn't seem to help at all.

where i got my 450, i was talking to the mechanic and they purposely dont put in the HRC kit. his words exactly..."yea dude you know that bottom end pep and power, you still want that right?...we dont do the HRC kit!" i thought it was funny. thats what i love about my 450R is the bottom end grunt.

yes you do lose a little bottom end power, but the trade off is way worth it. it moves the power up to the mid range area and it revs way quicker. put a 13t on it. i turned my idle up some but it was way to low from the factory. it might just need to be broke in.;)

yea even without my exhaust, the hrc kit is perfectly trailable with a 13t front sprocket. and it screams on top ... totally worth it. i do want low end back im hoping to get it with the HMF fullsystem if it ever gets here

I keep my idle turned way up at the races...so afraid to sub it!! plus the motor sounds all "built up" then. whatever thats worth lol.

installed a Renthal 13 tooth front sprocket last night, it really shortens the tall 1st gear. Can't wait to try it out this weekend, feels like a torque monster now.:macho

yea thats the same sprocket i got on mine and i love it... its really alot easier to get through the trail now! Make sure you locktight the bolts on taht chain guard..... had to get new bolts after i installed mine ... vibrations on this thing are killer!
