View Full Version : Rear brake Caliper Will not Disingauge-Help me if you can?

I have a 400ex and It has been Sitting for about 2 weeks, I went out to the Building Just a minute ago and tryed to get It out by pulling on it but I noticed that the rear Brake Would not Release so there for It wouldnt move. Does any1 know what I should do to fix this prob??????:grr:

take off the caliper & squeeze the piston down (reinstall assembly). then pump the break lever and se eif it fixes it...you may just have some gunk in there

Make sure the parking brake isn't on. I've done it before. Took me 15 minutes to figure out:blah:

very possible the slide pin is siezed, take it out (its the allen head with the rubber sleeve) and grease it real good and put it back on

I figured out that it was somthing to do with the parking brake Because the adjustment screw that the Parking Brake cable was hooked to was rusted up and wouldnt adjust anymore so instead of ordering a new one I am going to just take the Whole parking brake system off. Would this be a good ideal???
And what all do I need ???

Since its Froze in the on position will it put the parking brake back on when I Bolt the Little side piece back on ?

get a block off plate after you remove it ;)

anywhere....try not to spend over $15 on one b/c then your'e paying too much
