the plastic thing in the middle of my handlebars is held down by this fairly fat philips screw. i was going to take it off to collapse my handlebars and i just about rounded it. now, it's not completely buggered up but about another 1/2 a turn and it's gone. i'm using the right sized philips, but these damn copper or whatever kind of screws they put a lot of my bike together with suck. so my question is how much are one of those plastic things? i'm planning on cutting it off to get better access to that screw.

just lube it up real good with like pb blaster or Wd-40 and make sure your screwdriver fits in the slot tight and press down and turn LEFT

AH-HA! got it!

sprayed some liquid wrench on it, gave it a good whack, went inside, watched some foodTV and history channel, went back out and it took a 1/2"drive socket wrench with a 6" torque extension. WHEW SHE WAS ON THERE! going to be replacing it with a stainless steel hexhead bolt soon...

thanks for the offers though guys :D :D :D
