how hard is this to do.... how hard would it be to put a yz 426 motor in there.... do they line up pritty well.... well give me some info on this conversion

Go check out Service Honda I think it is. They will sell you a complete unit with a 250R engine in a 400EX frame.

yeah i know they make the kit for it but i cant afford it.... im looking to put a stocker motor in or something like that....something i can pritty much do myself

adam sick did it... dirt wheels had a article on it about 2 or 3 years ago...


he made his frame so he could switch from a yz426 to a 250r motor over night...

Its not easy, it takes alot of fabrication skills and knowledge of how a motor lines up with its pivot point.

I do not recommend doing business with Service Honda.

A few years ago I bought a new 400EX and paid cash. I also paid cash for the Honda Care extended warranty and they pocketed the warranty money and screwed me. Honda Care confirmed it.

They look like a bigger operation but they are in a old old building downtown Hammond with what looks like less than 2000 feet. Their showroom is tiny. It is amazing what how the internet can make you look big and reputable.

Buyer beware.
