350x conversion quad

How hard would it be for the average joe to do the conversion? im lookin for more power but dont want a new quad do to the fact ill be goin to ohio state this coming summer and wont have much time to ride anyhow. I just want somethin to get me through 1 season of mx next year. I figured sellin my 300 motor and buyin a 350x would be the cheapest way to go. Whatd ya think?

www.powroll.com sells a great conversion kit for it. Most expensive part would be buying their exhaust. But im sure that a 400ex exhaust will work with minor mods.

hmm all i need is 515 bux and a 350x engine and wiring harness, this may be really tempting to try.How much power would i be lookin to get outta this compared to the 300 motor?

I've seen averages on the Dyno of a 300ex pulling 15-18HP. The 350x is in the 24-27HP range. Remember it's kick start and not electric start.

i think the 350x motor is about the same as a 400ex...power wise...i did the conversion..just get ya a motor, wiring, carb(400ex carb will work too) and a stock 400ex head pipe...that powroll is too expensive..the motor is real easy to fit in..just cut off the bottom motor mounts on the frame and trim down the top mount on the motor and make some spacers...you'll see what too do after you get a motor..the hardest thing is makin a pipe but it aint bad..we had to bend it a lil and add about 3" right at the flange to clear the 300ex frame rails...its alot different from a 300ex motor power wise..you'll be happy with it...if you have and ?'s just pm me

The conversion isn't that hard. I got my engine and all of the 350x parts (except exhaust, i'm going with powroll) for 500 dollars. I'm almost done, i'm just waitin for my exhaust and compression release cable.

get you a stock 400ex head pipe and get a TC 400ex exhaust and it should work...i dunno....

1) The 400ex head pipe won't work.
2) The 350x motor makes about 23-24hp(about 3hp less then a 400ex)
3) For what a used 400ex goes for and the cost of putting together a 350x transplant your better of getting a 400ex.
