400 crf 450 motors

how much would a 400ex motor sell for and how much could i get a crf 450 motor for

I plan on doing the same thing, selling the EX engine and buying a dirtbike engine.

I don't quite know what the EX engine will go for, depends on the year and if it was ever rebuilt, how many hours, how it runs, etc.

A 450 engine can run anywhere from $1k-3k.

also where are you gonna get a crf450? ive heard that you cant buy just motors from honda/zuk etc etc

You CAN buy just the motor for a CRF. You can get a new "crate motor" for around 3 grand from service honda or you can get one off of ebay or other sites for much cheaper used. CRF motors are not too hard to find if you know where to look. As far as doing the conversion, youll need to get your frame modified for the radiator, mounts, etc... JB Racing seems to be the best at doing this for the best price. You will need to get an exhaust made, TC racing makes one that will fit the 400ex frame but you need to get a hanger and mount made on your subframe. It takes alot of work to do this conversion CORRECTLY and if you do it will work out great. If you do it half *** and do a hack job on it it will give you more problems than you know how to deal with...
