I bought a new DID chain a while but i never put it on yet. Now i decide to put it on and i was thinking is it bad to put a new chain on and keep the old sprockets. My sprockets are ok but should i just spend the extra and get them?

It will just make the chain wear out faster if anything. If you have the extra $, buy new sprockets. If not, put it on and go ride:cool:

First off i would say for sure make sure you buy your sprockets from a respected dealer. The last sprockets i bought were for a crotchrocket i found out later when i took the bike to my dealer to see why the chain that i had (perfect length) wouldn't fit. So i had to buy another set of sprockets. I would definetly change the sprockets with the chain no matter how much wear they have or don't have. Its always a good idea. As far as brands of sprockets to get: I am running renthal, sidewinders are good, and i have heard that RK sprockets aren't bad either though i have no experience with them. Hope i helped out some.

I got my sprockets out of a magazine called chapparel and the rear sprocket was $50.99 and the front was $15.99.

Be careful using Renthal Sprockets on a quad, they are aluminum, and don't hold up to the abuse and torque of quads as good as the stainless steel sprokets do, I still run stock sprockets, and I just put my new X-ring chain on, and it's all good.

Florida400ex do you know how fast you top out? It sounds like our quads are set up pretty similar besides you have a 416 bore and a 10:8:1 piston whereas i have a 406 bore but a 11:1 piston. I wonder which one is faster?
