buying 2005 400ex..got some Qs.

im going tuesday to get a 2005 400ex. i hate the new body style but it can easily be fixed by adding a hood. they say the gearing had been changed. is it slower or faster then the old 400? what about off the line? my other question is that im 17 so im going to have my mom co-sign the loan..can i just go to the dealer tell them what i want and fill out all the papers and then have my mom come by and sign it, or could they fax it to her then have her fax a sig. back? what all is involved in buying a new bike from the dealer. im going to finance it. does my parents HAVE to be there before they will let me do anything? can they do everything over the phone and fax while i fill out the papers there? i do have a honda card, i dont know if that would help or not. can i expect them to come down on the price alittle?

i dont think you could have them drop in price but i know that you would need someone there to cosign it...

she will have to be the sole signer on it, you have to be 18 to be able to legally sign a contract. Your mom will have to be there.

if u dont like the body style then just get an 04 also u could probably get the 04 a few hundred cheeper

O yea, if you do buy it, let me know where your at, and if your going to sell the plastics, I may buy them off of you.

or if you dont have the money for a $5000 new quad, buy a used one. I know your probably saying "i dont want one that someone has ragged on" but these things are meant for some abuse, and honda 400exes can definately take abuse. Look around, youll find some 2001 and 2002's for probably 3 grand, thats only one summers work instead of two.

i can afford the new one. i decided i was going to quit messin around with used bikes because i bought a 2001 400ex back in march and 2 weeks later it blew up. i wont even ridin it hard. the bottem end needed rebuilt and the guy didn't tell me cause he wanted his money. and i really want a 400ex because i love the way they handle and perform on the trails and track. but the reverse is a big plus since i ride in tight woods and im usely too lazy to get off when i do need it. is it slower or faster then the 04 400exs? im not sure if ill sell the plastics or not. i plan to put fullbore front and rear plastics on it with the tech light setup. OR i might just get the 2004 front plastics..will they bolt right up to the 05s? any diffrence in frame?

I think the 05' 400EX is a great move for Honda.

The new 05' 400ex is awsome, Honda is really the best. Before that came out i wanted to put 450r plastics on my 04' 400ex now i could. I wonder if i can put the reverse on the 04' 400ex from the 05'.

spend the extra $$$ and ge tthe TRX450r while your at it ;)
