Before I start Coverage, I want to say "Harlen... I dont know how the heck you do it!!" I have a ton of respect for you and Pappy for all the great Race Coverage you bring to all of us.... Its not easy as I found out this wk end.. Im sorry to report that my Camera took a Digger and I lost a ton of footage :( I did the best I could this race .Hopefully my next one will have a nicer Camera in hand.........

I would also like the thank WORCS and Tag and Robin for putting on such a great event and letting me out in the field to get Race Coverage. Tag and Robin have REALLY done alot for the ATV's in Idaho and We thank you!!

Now on with the Coverage!!!!
This years Round was held in Payette Idaho ( my hometown!!) This was a first for Clay Peak to have a WORCS event and what not better than a first"quads only" race to boot!:blah: In total there were appox. 125 entries rangeing from 50cc mini quads to Utility classes.... The weather was great great the riders as it turned out to be a very chilly wk end with some rain all week which made for almost no dust and coller riding Conditions... The course constisted of mainly sand ,sand Washes, trails and Grassy Sections, riddledd with whoops and uphill sweepersand Elevations changes.. On a few of the straight aways it was 5th gear running and the trail opened wide enough to pick numorous lines. then there were spots that were less than one quad wide. By the end of the wk end, the trails whoops got to waist deep:huh .Im happy to report that no one was seriously injured but some Carnage was reported when the Pro Class ran on Sun. In several classes there wre reports of minor roll overs, breakdowns an some DNF's....

also, if any of you have pictures youwould like me to add to this Race coverage, please email them to tntkuna@msn.com and include your race number, how you placed, what Class, and your Exrider username

Again ,sorry for the "D" class pics...:o

First race of the day was the 90cc mini class:macho . This was also a first time for WORCS to put a race on and having the minis getting involved.... I think everyone can agree that this lil guys and gals were a great addition to the Series and I hope they contunie to do more in the future Races...There were minis that came all the way from Albequrque NM. to race .. Unfortunaly they had a DNF due to mechancial problems :( I think in total there were 4 DNF's. Exriders Fastbikes son Austin also had motor issues and had to pull off :(. also one mini was unable to run this course, but ran the 50cc superMX on Sun. it was better suited for the 50cc quads...

I was impressed with all the kids.. They done so well!! The minis ran 45 minutes and climbed some very hill that the big quads go up. They basically ran most of the same course aside of the huge hillclimb and they changed the trails a bit and looped them around, bit they tackled some mean terrain!! I talked to most of the kids after the race and they all had a blast!!

And there off!!! line Kelsey Lugan (and Daughter)aboard her Kasea gets the holeshot!!!

Good job for trying Tina..Well for being my first National event, I most say it was a blast. The trails were brutal but fun. I had a bunch of issues out on the sand parts and on the corners. I killed my bike 4 times and stop twice to pull my boxers out of my *****.:D
At the end of the day I got Second place on C Class..Sorry I have no pictures to post.

i bet y'all have been wondering when i'd chime in...
i had a great trip to payette, a great time racing and some other fun too....
my brother & i went over thursday, rode practice friday afternoon & did a little work on tuning the quads.... friday night they had a general riders meeting after pro test & tune, & discussed the proposed series for next year.... 7 all atv rounds, and some combined ATV/DB rounds(w/ less classes)

saturday-
i ran production B, got stuck on the 1st lap, then flipped it on one of the hill climbs on the MX track on my 5th lap... finished 9th of 12, i guess some others had more problems than i did...

my brother ran C on his LT250R, came in 11th, he was having problems shifting... flase neutrals, slipping clutch, etc... we need to find a new clutch for it soon & do some testing... he's never had those problems before.

after his race, we quickly loaded up to go see our niece race at firebird raceway (drag races), they had some jet dragsters there too... way cool.

sunday-
I ran Vet 30+ B came out of the gate to a good start, 4th place, had no problems the whole race & finished 2nd... one rider must have had mechanical problems & the other was bumped up to vet A for sandbagging.

both days the courses were different & very fun, I had a great time, i think my brother did too in spite of some frustration with his bike.

ORC(off-road) did a great job on the pics as they do at any of the events they go to!
also- WORCS already has results w/ lap times posted on thier website.

to add to the fun- on the way back my bronco had a freeze plug start leaking(corrosion), thankfully we were at my mom's place in richland & had tools to fix it when it happened.

I ran behind him with his LT 250. I was wondering if I was going to have to give him a ride in. His LT was giving him some serious fits!

That picture is of the pro main start on sunday. Eichner is in the lead, Im at the bottom right and bocook is just to my right barely visible in the dust.

I raced the team event in c with my wife earlier that morning. I took the first lap. She wasnt used to my bike, in fact she used several 4 letter words to describe its handling characteristics.

She crashed on the mx infiel and was done for the day.

It's only her second time racing and not having her bike to race was a bad idea. :/

It was very cool actually, made my whole weekend.

Sucked that she crashed, but I ended getting immediate congressional approval for a new front end and axis long travel all the way around.

"Your bike handles like a turd!" That was the only 4 letter word she mentioned that I can repeat without getting banned.

So for my own safety I have to get Axis suspension... :)

I was trying to figure out who the dweeb on the suzuki was. That must be brandon brown. I think his honda had an issue so Holz loaned him a bike.

Looks like he got the hang of it pretty quick! :)

that hill climb's the one that put me on my noggin on saturday, a hole developed on the right side of it, causing the quad to kick hard as you went up it.... it kicked me hard enough to flip the quad up the hill, the front bumper dug in & took it the rest of the way.... when i got up i was slightly dazed. teh same spot almost took out a few other riders, i took the left line after that, it wasn't as bad on sunday, but i still wasn't as aggressive on it & stayed left.

i had a great trip to payette, a great time racing and some other fun too....
my brother & i went over thursday, rode practice friday afternoon & did a little work on tuning the quads.... friday night they had a general riders meeting after pro test & tune, & discussed the proposed series for next year.... 7 all atv rounds, and some combined ATV/DB rounds(w/ less classes)

saturday-
i ran production B, got stuck on the 1st lap, then flipped it on one of the hill climbs on the MX track on my 5th lap... finished 9th of 12, i guess some others had more problems than i did...

my brother ran C on his LT250R, came in 11th, he was having problems shifting... flase neutrals, slipping clutch, etc... we need to find a new clutch for it soon & do some testing... he's never had those problems before.

after his race, we quickly loaded up to go see our niece race at firebird raceway (drag races), they had some jet dragsters there too... way cool.

sunday-
I ran Vet 30+ B came out of the gate to a good start, 4th place, had no problems the whole race & finished 2nd... one rider must have had mechanical problems & the other was bumped up to vet A for sandbagging.

hey andrea i think i lined up next to you during the production B class....

that was a fun course, lots of everything.....

ended up 10th in prod B, had a few problems getting stuck.....

6th in open B,....amd 3rd in the team race B class, i got stuck on the first lap on a sand berm thing, and my second lap i got lost, and my partners last lap he got stuck on the same sand berm i did....but it was awesome anyways....battled with some guys on a 250r in the C class since me getting stuck 1st lap put me 2 minutes back, so it was fun.....

I noticed alot of the oregon people get defensive when we kept forgetting we were staying in ontario oregon and nto idaho....kinda funny...

Glad to know everyone likes our ( Off-road) pics. Watch at the first of the month for a full write up on the race, and a feature on the minis that were out there.
I got 6'th in Prod. A on Saturday. Then got a DNF in the Semi-Pro class. For anyone watching, I was the one on the blue and red YFZ that led the first hour or so of the Semi-Pro race( 45 sec. lead or so). After about an hour my regulator-rectifier had discharged my battery enough to ruin it. My battery went, and then my day was over. Sucked..I was soo close to having a win in Semi-Pro.
Always next time.
We're racing the Las Vegas 200 on Saturday during Glen Helen, but we might make it up on Sunday so I can race the Prod. A class. Boy that would be fun, do a 100 miles on saturday, then an hour on sunday. LOL

Guy who said there wasn't a pic of him on his stock banshee:
I'm currently sponsored by and work for Off-Road.Com. In a weekend like Payette, our photographer will take close to 800 pictures. When we get back, we go through every single one of the pictures and start eliminating ones that aren't quite as good quality wise, and only 400 out of the 800 will go into the gallery. We take a picture of everyone that goes past no matter what they ride. Were sorry that none of the pictures of you made it into the gallery but it was not because we didn't like how your quad looks.

Phil- i remember passing you on the track during the sunday race... it's a bummer you had a rough time there. look me up at the payette & goldednale rounds next time around... if you need a bolt, i carry a bunch of spares all the time... i might just have what you need.

anyone planning on racing minis again at Payette??? Me and my little Brother will be on a Kasea 90 and an eton viper 70. It was cool having all the minis at this event and keeping up with most of the riders. Also, my Mom told me that they are re building the main mx track and that its supposed to have some step ups and jumps I guess the County is working on it now. Also, is any minis doing the whole series?
