I have 05 yfz450. Just got the HMF full system the lid on I got some jets and pilot 175 main 48 pilot air screw out 2 turns.stock needle at 4th spot and moved it to 5th. ran good no problems check the plug it was clean like new the porcelin end was still white so i put the needle on the 6th spot ran it was good it turn tan color. I also have a 7th spot on the needle i though they only have 6 spots?
So i want to check the top end ran great check th plug it was white so i went to a 178 main same thing still white so going to get more jets tomorrow. Just wondering were everbody is jetted? I don't want to be lean. Everything is stock on the bike no cam mod or filter. If do the cam mod and filter do i have to rejet?

I have the same set up , no air lid......50 pilet ......185 main.....needle on 5th clip .....air screw 2 and half tuns out from bottom. Hope it helps!!!:eek2:

I have NCVQ needle on 3rd clip 45 pilot and 162 main.Same set up as you airbox lid on,stock filter,and full HMF with quiet core.

You do sound like your running pretty rich already for your mods, especially with the lid on. Where are you looking at the plug? You should be looking at the base of the porcelain. I'm running the following with the lid on and a HMF BB full pipe at 600ft of elevation and 80 degrees F:

170 main, stock needle on 5th clip, 42 pilot, 2 turns on fuel screw.

I am running 6 spot on the needle and a 178 main lid on and the plug is light brown runs great pulls strong and runs great at top end the plug is brown at the porcelain there is no black at all
