how long before we do the 1st service?

ok, i have aropund 8 -9 tanks through my 450, all broken in, runnin great and no noises or problems. How long should i wait before i bring it for the 1st service? I changed the oil once already. how long did u guys wait?....and did the valves need to be adjusted when you brought it back for servicing? thanks guys

i never needed to bring mine in....valves supposedly dont need to be adjusted for along time on these things...

My dealer wants $220 to do it. :eek:

Going to be doing the 1st oil change this afternoon. I have about 10 hrs on it so I don't want to put it off any longer...

$220 is a huge waste of money...they will do easy things like check air pressure in tires & break fluid level..its ridiculous..the only hard things they will do is check engine idle for noises & adjust valves which prob. dont need to be adjusted anyways...change your oil too...10 hours is along time on break in oil

what does the "1st servise" consist of???

I changed my oil after the 1st 1/2 hour of riding. Then I changed it again when I was done for the day. I always chang my engine oil after every ride. Then I change the transmission oil and oil filter every other time I ride.
