2004 Extreme Dirt Track ATV Racing - RD#5 - Paducah - ATV Race Coverage

Round 5 of the GNC TT Series was held at Paducah International Raceway in Kentucky.

The track was located just minutes from the intersection of the Ohio and Tennessee rivers. The waterways are a big part of Paducahs history, economy and way of life. From the Four Rivers Performing Arts Center and the Center for Maritime Education, to the River Heritage Museum and the floodwall murials.

This race was a special one, as it was dedicated to the memory of the late Jack Meadows.....

..and it was to be the final race for his son, Jackie Meadows.

Team Green was out in full support of Jackie.... and ATV racing in general!

The pits came alive early.... and so did the line at the safety check tent.

I think there is another battle starting off the track.... who's got the biggest trailer! Keith Little is winning....:D

The track was real fast and slick. The riders really had to work to make a pass.

An old military duece and a half was recruited to do the track watering.

The Pros were unbelievably fast during practice, and their heats were even faster. Heat 1 included Mr. Timothy Farr, sitting 1st in points.

#318 Brandon Watts who finished 2nd to Tim in his heat race.

#708 Harold Goodman who is leading the points in Pro Am 265.

11:00 at night, and it was time for the Pro Main. Here's the gate choice order.

It was interesting to see the top three line up side by side.

Most of the racers heated the tires up at the line.

When the light went green, they were off in a hurry, and it was Keith Little getting the holeshot, with Shane Hitt, Harold Goodman and Tim Farr right behind him.

Unfortunately, #47 Zac Willett came off his bike going into the infield and the race was red flagged.

He was alright and able to get back on and head to the line. Once again, the green light was out and they were off.

With almost an identical start as earlier, coming into the infield it was Keith Little, followed by Shane Hitt, Harold Goodman and Tim Farr.

Little and Hitt shot down the back of the infield.

[p@iNn3ck]

By lap 2 Shane Hitt had taken over the lead, and Tim Farr had moved up to put pressure on Keith Little for second.

Jackie Meadows, who had problems in the first turn, was doing his best to charge through the pack.

Heading into the infield on lap 5, Farr made a pass on Little to take over 2nd and set his sights on Hitt. Goodman rounded out the leaders pack.

A little ways behind the leaders, battling for 5th and 6th, were #316 Jathan Seale and #2 Darin Ogden.

The next group back was fighting hard for positions. Taking 7th was #318 Brandon Watts, 9th was #626 Jason England and 10th place was #81 Chris Gary.

#22 Brad Covington stayed tight with that same group and was able to earn 8th place.

Meanwhile, up front, Shane Dog was doing everything in his power to hold Tim off and keep the lead.

And Keith Little was staying focused on keeping third place.....

and keeping Harold Goodman behind him.

As they came by the checkered flag, it was #5 Shane Hitt taking the win!! #4 Tim Farr was still hard on the gas, pulling the front wheels up across the finish line. And #12 Keith Little sucessfully held on for third, with #708 Harold Goodman taking fourth.

Shane Hitt presented his first place trophy to the Meadows Family, he said he knew they would take good care of it!

Jackie and the Meadows family were also presented with a trophy of appreciation for all they have done in the sport!

As his mothers eyes were tearing up, Jackie accepted the award and gave a very moving speech.

Then it was time for the champagne celebration. I think they had a plan.....

Poor Shane had a time trying to get away from the shower.

Minus Shane Hitt, Jackie Meadows and a few others, the Pro Am Production linup was pretty close to the Pro Class.

But this race Keith Little held off both Tim Farr (1st in points) and Darin Ogden (2nd in points) for the win.

#29 Robert McClure pulled off a victory over 1st in points Harold Goodman and 2nd in points Chris Gary.

Goodman lost his first Pro Am 265 race of the year, but still holds on to the points lead.

1st in points #45 and 2nd in points #4, finished second and third to.....

...#12 Todd Harrell. He also took first in Plus 25 AND Open A and sits second in points in both as well.

#38 Eric Jennings won his second race in a row, while #356 Michael Novak took second.

#184 Cain Rogers won his first Prod A race of the year. #356 Michael Novak finished 10th, but had a great looking EXRiders.com sticker!

#65 Joseph Underwood took 1st putting him 12th in points with only 1 race.

While points leader Stephen Loxley Jr took 3rd, only the second time this season not taking the win.

Iceracer65, Jason Miller, pulled out a 12th place finish in both Production A and 4 Stroke A.

Stephen Groden, the 265B points leader took first for the third time this year. He also took 3rd in the 16-24 class where he site second in points.

Flattrack450, Anthony Green took 9th place in both 265 B and 12-24 on a newly setup machine. Thanks for sayin Hey.

Bobby Giles won his second in a row and moved to the top of the points. Plus he kept it right side up in the 16-24 class and finished second.

Jensen Roberts won Production B, moving him into third in points. And took second in 265B, where he site second in points.

Robin Seitz took the win edging him to within 1 point of the leader.

Tyler Smith won the 265 C, where he leads the points, and Production C classes, where he is second in points.

David Epley had a wild ride and finished 2nd, but still holds the lead in points.

Points leader Brian Egloff only managed a 4th place finish.

With a 2nd place finish, Kenny "The Quadfather" Marcou moved into the top 10 in points.

Mandy Brodil took her fourth win putting her 36 points out in front.

Bethany Clayton looked super fast out there, taking a 2nd in womens, and 5th in 16-24.

Pink hubs and all, Scott Morris is undefeated this season, taking his 5th win in a row!

After an 8th place finish in round 1, Jeff Hillian has won 4 rounds in a row, leading the class in points!

Once again, my favorite class! #18 Bobby Bessire finished second to #25 Katryn Skipper, but still leads the points over 3rd place finisher Zach Wentz.

#54 Tyler Skipper won his third race in a row, extending his lead over Lake Kuba who finished 3rd.

Paige Bowman finished 5th, and was a blast to watch. Her quad couldn't sit more than 2 inches off the ground.

Points leader #2 Landen Williams wasn't able to take another win..... but his town-mate #316 Ryland Johnson did with his first #1 finish, moving him into 2nd in the points.

And Kacee Frazier blazed to a second place finish.

But Michael Blanchard finished 2nd, to keep a hold of his points lead. Plus he finished first in Youth Production, moving into second in points.
