ok, I'm getting interested in buying some 250R plastics, to go on my 400ex, and I'm wondering where the hard part are to make them fit? If its the seat latch, I'm making custom ones, on hinges, (which will be forsale soon :) ). I just need to know what needs to be grinded, or cut to fit the 400ex frame and all.

thanks

make it easy on yourself and just buy aftermarket 400 plastic because it looks practically the same as 250r but it mounts up right

i got a 250r and 400ex only thing onther than the back seat latch i seen is the front seat latch they are ponting opposite directions, you might have to cut them off turn them around and reweld them, or maybe some kinda of grinding on the seat itself, but for sure the front seat latches where the groments go onto is pointing opposite directions. hope it helps i need a front mounting kit for a 250r is why i was looking, if you know someone that has a new 250r seat or the old syle mounting kit let me know too thanks.

i was going to do it to mine, But i was told that 250r fronts on a 400ex, the frame (under the gastank , you would see that and possibly part of the gas tank , it would look crappy , if you look at 250r plastics and a 400ex,, you can some what picture how it would fit in your head and can tell that the 250r plastics don't have the curve like the ex plastics. but good luck if you try it.

oh ps... there used to be a pic of a kids 400ex that he put a 250r graffic kit on ,,, and you could see how the graffics barley fit on the sides of the front.
if you do it let me know how it turns out.

there is one on ebay with 400ex plastic on it and it looked good, dont know how he did it but i am guessing you might have to just trade seats to get past the front mounting. GOOD LUCK
