Spray mine with Hondabrite after most rides and it works great. The grease and grime comes right off and it jumps off the next ride out. It's safe to use on everything on the quad. It'll clean a quad that's been neglected for a while if you let it sit for a few minutes.

use simple green, spray it all over the quad(everywhere) and let it sit for 10 minutes. then rinse and when you dry it the remaining little stuff will come off. then finish up your plastic with amorall.

i use oranga blast every where let it sit then spray it off. then get tire shine for the plastics and tires just let it dry and wipe of the extra. my plastics are pretty messed up but this makes them look almost new again. just be sure not to get it on your seat.

I use Mean Green on mine. As far as I know you can only get it at Dollar General but it is well worth it. It works like simple green only meaner. All I do is spray it on let it sit for a couple minutes, use a brush and break up all remaining dirt and rince.

You can get WD-40 in a blast can, spray the engine and frame down, as somebody else suggested. Don't get it on the brake rotors though! :p

you guys want in on a little secret of mine when it comes to detailing autos and quads...a little pricey, but simple green cant hold a candle to this stuff....K&N filter cleaner. Spray it everywhere and watch the crap run off, even after you thought you just washed it. Your tires will look brand new, heat fins are free of everything, and it gets into the smallest spots and floats away the dirt. HOPE THAT HELPS IN DETAILING YOUR BIKE GUYS, LET ME KNOW WHATCHA THINK AFTER TRYING IT!

I agree. I'm sponsored by simple green so that's all I use, but K&N filter cleaner is some pimp daddy stuff. Besides my filter I spray it on my swinger to get all the crap that flys off the chain and it takes that stuff right off.
But it is pricey so I stick with simple green.

NAPA has some aluminum cleaner that is flat out badass, just bought some today to check it out, and it eats all the crud off of your motor, pipe, etc, even baked on stuff. do not spray it on polished areas though, as it will tarnish it and you will have to re-polish it

I just use dish washing liquid mixed in water to clean the top side plastics and seat, then simple green for all the mechanics and underside stuff. I don't polish or put anything on my plastic, its all scratched and stuff anyway and I don't show mine or anything, it looks decent, its just a trail quad so I don't care if my plastics are uber shiny.

Take the hose and get all the stuff off that comes off easily with just that, then make sure your quad is wet, take some simple green in a spray bottle and coat everything on the quad just soak the whole quad in it.Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes depending how dirty it is,make sure it doesnt dry on it, then come back and hose off really good. If your plastics are older and scratched and fading a lil take some future floor wax and apply it to a lint free rag(old tshirt seems to work good) then put on about 4-8 light coats of this stuff with about 30 minutes in between coats and make sure its not blotchy. This will fill in the small scratches and will make them nearly invisible and make the plastic shine like new,it dries to a hard finish so it should hold up after a washing unlike armorall. Read the back of the future bottle and it will tell you exactly how much ammonia and water to use to get it off after a month or 2, i dunno why you need to do this it just says to.Then you would just reapply it again

Me too, that stuff rocks! It says not to use it on aluminum, but I haven't noticed any problems yet.

We use Simple Green usually but when we are out we use car wash soap, spray everything but plastics w/ degreaser. We just got some new stuff from our sponsor it's Prolong Superlubricants, it's a waterless spray on wash & it's AWESOME!!
The HRCA club is putting on a quad detailing seminar on Jan 8 for members & they are going to detail MY QUAD WHOOHOOO that'll probably be the cleanest it will be since new :o so I'm interested to see what they use I'll make a post about it too see if I learn anything new!! :)

spray the whole thing down with Castrol Super cean. or Simple Green let soak. The Castrol may be a little harsh on polished aluminum so be carefull. Power washer is best dont hve go to a quarter carwash.
Then mix 50/50 of ATF, yes ATF & Minarel spirts spray everyware
wipe seats and plastics the whole will shine like new and make for a easy
clean up on your next ride because the dirt , sand or mud does not stick to it very well. Hose it down and spray it again.
It realy works great I use it on all my toys and engine compartments . realy cheap to 10.00 will last almost a year worth
of shine.

Damon Industries from Alliance, Ohio sell a product called SF77, it is an industrial cleaner and degreaser. It should be mixed 50-50 with water, and you should be careful with it on any polished aluminum, but other than this, simple green and that castrol stuff don't even come close. No scrubbing required. Just spray it on and let it sit for about 10 minutes. It will even take that ugly residue off rubber (radiator hoses, tires, etc), and it will look like new.
