400ex motor smoking

i have a 2000 400ex and the motor is smoking blue at higher rpm's. i know i need a rebuild but was hoping to wait till winter. is there anything i can do to help it out so it can make it till winter.

nothing is gunna make it better its just going to keep getting worse until you do a rebuild on it...just order the parts and you can do the rebuild on it in a day...thats what i would do

you could try thicker motor oil. also, make sure you don't run low or you could be in a world of problems.

tahts sounds alll too familiar... mine did that recently ... my rings seized to the piston and scared the cylinder wall... took hnda 9 weeks to fix it .. though it isnt under warrenty cuz its from quote " hard riding" lol good luck with yours
