Yamaha Blaster

I got a 240 Big Bore Blaster from HWD Productions, and i was just at the track the other day. And i was happy to see 3 400ex's there as well...

I told them my bike was stock, and i raced 5 laps. Well I finished and i beat them by about 5 seconds....

I thought that the 400ex was the best thing ever from what i seen on this site, i mean i see that some people claim that there are only 4-strokes on the MX track... well, i am at the tracks always, and destroy 400ex's. 300ex's and z400's all the time, i was battling it out with a yfz450 last weekend.... i will post some videos of me dragging 400ex's and destroying them...

Were like 3 year olds riding them. I mean dont get me wrong the Blaster can be fast, but if the 400's were rode by some decent riders, they should have spanked you. Not arguing or saying your wrong, just dont think it would happen around here.

they were 18 and 19 year olds, there my friends, a member here nhs333x2 was there, he came in behind me....

Ask him, im sorry folks, the 400ex aint the best MX machine out there, and it is a feeling when a $3000 atv kills $5400 atv's....

- 400exKillA :devil: :devil: :devil: I agree that a tweaked Blaster can be faster than a stock or slightly modded 400EX in drag races.. My brother had one that gave me a run for my money.. BUT.. The initial cost of the quads doesn't mean anything when you start adding up how many pistons and rings you'll be dropping into that thing(not to mention the down time). He ended out putting his Blaster back to stock and giving it to his wife and buying a Kawasaki KFX. He was sick of maintaining the pig. ;)

A stock 400EX handles a LOT better than a Blaster as well. And a built 400EX will hand you your butt and will be reliable at the same time.

Also BTW: your '$3000' Blaster is no longer '$3000' after you send it to Hollywood. A new '$3000' Blaster won't compete with a new '$5400' 400EX.

see this is a reason i have a thing against blaster owners. dam i beat 400ex's on my trail blazer...were they riding and using the quad to their full potential? no....get some1 who is a good rider and they will beat you. equally modded none of this full blown lsr everything and axis susp against a stock quad....yeah thats real fair :rolleyes:

i have seen a blaster smoke a 400ex

me and my friend draged and he killed me he has put almost 4 grand into his blaster and his bike smokes alot of people
he rides it hard and so do i but i was no match for the blaster

yeah well your key words are he had 4 grand in the blaster;)
his buddy said stock to light modded 400's, the blaster might have a lil more power if it has that much next to the 400.:cool:

man everyones like i have 4000 bucks in my blaster and i smoke 400exs. wow thats a huge accomplishment. if i put 4gs into my ex i'd be smokin yfzs, cannondales, and maybe banshees...plus blasters cant handle worth crap...i had one for 3 months before i grew out of it.

the little blaster owners need to put things in perspective.

I hate to admit it, but I have taken second to a Blaster on my 400ex in MX. It was a local venue about 3 years ago, not a district race or anything, but still, the kid was wicked fast. He had us all beat by several seconds. It was a tight track with a lot of jumps and corners. The biggest jump was a 40 foot gap jump with a tabletop landing. (Double with tabletop landing) I can't remember if the Blaster was clearing that double, but I was, and I couldn't beat him. My 400 had works front shocks, and a Durablue axle at the time. No motor mods.

I got a pretty nice second place trophy.


I don't remember seeing anybody claim the 400EX was the best MX quad. Maybe when it first came out and there wasn't anything new that was close to it, but not lately.

well i have a ex with long travel 440 kit and all that and a blaster with A-arms shocks swing arm all that and i mean there is not comparison at all

for a bout a 1000 bucks, you can make a blaster slightly faster than a piped 400ex, and thats with a stock bore/stroke. blaster will go wicked fast for cheap, its the suspension you have to dump all the money in. i have about 3200 in suspension on my blasty. handles like a dream, but the motor is still bone stock down to the stock pipe, reeds and air filter
