Trx70 Help Please

Hey guys, im rebuilding an 87 TRX 70. For some reason when i pull started it today, the pullstarter came all of the way out, but ne rewound. How do i fix this? Or is there another site that knows about trx 70s?

i have an 89 atc70 & mine did this too...there is a way to rebuild them but I just found one off of ebay and used it & threw that one away

There is a large spring inside of the recoil. I noticed that the end of the spring borke off. Could that be the problem?

that is the problem, that spring gets tight when you pull the rope and then when you let it go the spring rebound is what pulls it back in. take the cover with rope spring and all up to a lawn mower repair shop and they should be able to fix it for you.

I found a brand new spring on ebay for 11$ I'll prolly just buy that.
