I just got my 440 kit and stage 2 cam and I am looking for a Heavy Duty Cam chain and head bolts I heard its recomended to get these things when doing the 440 and cam and help would be great thanks for every thing.

For studs FDO (like $70- $75), for timing chain service honda.com and get a crf450 chain only like $40

do you have to split the case to put the cam chain on, or do you just have to pull off the clutch cover?

No you don't have to split the cases. You do have to remove the entire clutch assembly and the oil pump. I would order a new nut that holds on the clutch basket also.;)

what year model did you get the chain from. my dealer said the 04 chain is different than the 02 and 03 ones. also, is this chain the exact length of the 400ex, or do you have to mod it.

did you have to modify it at all, or is it the same length as the 400ex chain.
