Has anyone used racing gas in a stock motor. Just curious if there were any noticeable gains or drawbacks. Also, what type of fuel were you using.

Thanks,
Chris

you can put high octane into a motor that requires low octane and the only thing different will be the $$$

Try a search for race gas, lots of information.

Basically, race gas doesn't make more power. Higher compression makes more power, but the higher compression causes problems with ordinary fuel. It will cause ordinary fuel to burn too soon, called detonation.

"Octane" is a measure of resistance to detonation, and that's where race-gas comes in. The higher octane of race gas allows you to run higher compression. The extra power comes from the compression, not the octane.

On a stock motor, you don't have high compression. You won't see any performance gain with race gas, you'll just be spending more money.
