Gibson damper instalation

is it normal to have some play in the damper after the installation?
mine is moving but I guess its okay since its got some kind of balljoints at both ends.

also I see people instaling the damper pointing to the left. mine is on the right. i guess it doesnt matter.


Id like to know about the play, I dont want to screw up this thing cause it works great.

i have mine on the left, you are supposed to have play in the joints when i damper is turned to left all the way and the same thing when its turned to the right. there is nothing wrong with running it on the right, ECA riders usually use 2 dampers, one on each side.
