A couple of days ago my kfx400 wouldnt start when I pushed the srarting button nothin happened. I thought the battery was dead but it wasnt now the only way I can start it is by pushing it and putting it in gear. Anybody know whats wrong. And by the way its 9 months old.

hey man... Iy may be your fuse may be blown...Or your coil wires may be bad...- I had the same problem and mine blew a fuse so i think thats what is wrong with yours look on the wire box under the seat and it gave u a extra fuse try it let me know..

I just checked the fuse it was all right. One of the wires that goes into the fuse box that is a copper color it looks a little black. An another thing I started it by pushing and putting it into gear and when I was just parking it I tried the electric start and it worked then i tried again and it didnt.

Guess what I feel so dumb the reason it wasnt starting was because I wasnt pulling in the clutch. :o :o

That's one thing I hate about the z400 that the 400ex had. The 400ex let you start it in gear with the clutch pulled in, OR you could pop it in neutral and just hit the button. The z400 wants the clutch pulled in regardless of what gear you're in. I guess it was cheaper and less complicated for the wiring.

Don't worry about it man. One time I tried to start mine and nothing, for a second I was like O crap but then I noticed that the switch was not turned to run. One of those things you hope your buddies don't see.
