450r starting

on the 450r when you start it you have to have it in nutral, can you do something where you can start it in gear?

i start mine in any gear.......hold the clutch in

well my friend got a 450r and it was in first gear and we kicked that thing for 15 min. then i put it in nutral and it started that first kick

it seemed to me to be a little harder to start in gear too. i tried holding the hot start in even if it hasnt been running and it starts right up in gear if im having problems. or your clutch needs adjusted.:confused:

i agree its easier to start in nuetral than it is in gear

is there any way you can fix it because i dont want to get the 450 then stall in a race and have to wast time finding nuetral then get passed ,

it will start right up in gear after you have been riding, just hold in the hot start. i do it all the time in the trails at the dunes. one kick.
the only time i have had trouble in gear is when it hasnt ran for a while and its cooled all the way down.

i think its cause the oil is cold & thick and trying to grab the gears still b/c after it warms up you can start it in any gear fine
