I think Borich had enough of his Yamaha! :macho

Jeff didn't just brake his stem he destroyed the front of his ATK...:( Bent a-arm, tore his front bumper off by ripping the bolt hole mounts out of the frame (frame replacement time), and broke the top of his stem.

I think the class I raced in 25-32 had the largest group of riders with 28. I finished 5th...:D I"m pretty happy with that finish being that I"ve been nursing an injured shoulder for 2 months and only have about 5 hours of ride time since the Penton race when I injured it.

They had several different classes grouped together so it wasn't each class leaving the line at different times.

Like all the A classes & womens together, all the B classes together, Pro and Pro-am together and that's all I can remember.

Track was rough as he11, very dusty, and extremely tight in some spots. Racing after the bikes really sucked. Them mofo's tear the track up..

Another cool thing was they had a special shirt and plaque made up with Jeff on it...

nice to meet you today Rico.

i ended up 15th in our class today for my first GNCC. I can usually ride a lot harder hard and my body can take it but before the first lap was done my thumb was numb and wouldn't work anymore.

i'm trying to figure out how to make that easier on the YFZ. even the honda thumb throttle didn't work. i'm at a loss. not sure i'd like a twist either, i've never used one.

that track was really rough. beat you to death. would have been nice to have the 3K plus custom axis setup this race :)

come on up!!! anytime!!!

i forgot i also bent a tie rod about 2 miles in on the last lap. took me 15 minutes to get it straight. then every 1.5 miles it would bend back again. it's hard when your butt clenches everytime you go between any trees that are tight at all at all.

wasn't sure i'd finish.

it was wierd, i went into the last lap 19th (after pitting for 15 minutes on the first lap because of my thumb), bent the rod and gained 4 spots. go figure

Get a Z400 thumb throttle!
I have one on both of my YFZ's
All you need to do is-
fill in the gaps w/ JB weld
tap out the cable hole w/ 12x1.25 tap or 12x1.50???
Works great for me, as I found the Honda thumb throttle to be a little too stiff also!

Ya, I'm ok. When the stem broke I saw that it was heading straight for a tree so I bailed off. The tree is what bent the a-arm and messed up the bumper mounts. Frame is still perfectly straight so it won't need to be replaced.

Dave Macarroll won the Sport class.

I won the super senior class. Second place was 35 minutes behind me. Not much competition, there was only 3 in my class.

thanks and sorry about that dust (NOT, lol) I was really expecting you to double podium in one weekend, that would have been cool, but I guess it was my day, I know there wasn't alot of pros there, but I will take it without hesitation- it was the hardest and cleanest (didn't have to stop for anything) race I have ever ran. And thanks for the t-shirt.

lol, aint that the truth, do you know who left a set of used rear razar 2's at the track? My buddy found them and I knew that they had tire balls in them from the lube inside them, last night he mounted them on rims and I asked him if they had any holes, and he said yeah, about 20, lol, so he put tubes in them for now so he could have spares

cdalejef
09-14-2004, 03:07 PM
Wasn't me, where they in our area? It nice not to have to replace tires when they get holes. :D

It took me about a lap before I realized it was you in front of me. Your goggle strap was covering your number

lshonda310
09-14-2004, 03:12 PM
I think he found them around our pit area somewhere after whoever left them had already left:confused: The goggle strap covering the number is an old trick that I have seen done many times:blah:

They were for me until I found out they had tire balls in them and I said, forget it. I guessed them to have around 15 holes in them, so I was close if they had 20.... LMFAO :D

I thought I put way more than 20 holes in those things. I wondered why rico wanted them? How about the 2" gash in the side wall of one of them.

The lap times are posted on GNCC's web site.
