Next weekend I am getting an 04 yfz 450 and I was wondering what I should do to it first?? What are the best mods for the money and any free mods. I haven't even ridden one of the new yamaha 450's. I have ridden the honda 450 though. I am trading my race car for a 3 month old 450 that is supposed to have about 12 hours on it. Anyway, let me know whatever I need to know about them. Thanks in advance.

Bill Fuller....I don't live too far from you..I am about 15 minutes south of Jackson, TN. It is about 1.5-2 hrs from Nashville. When does the next season of the mid south hare scrambles start? Are all of the races within reasonable driving distance? Thanks.

Me And Some friends Resently went to haspin acres and raced drags, well to our surprise the YFZ 450 did not impress us to much because a Z400, and a 400ex Would keep up with it for the most part of the track, If anything ditch the YFZ and get a 450R.

I have 2 friends with 450r's and one with a yfz450...on the street the yfz can almost walk off and leave the hondas. The yfz is stock...one of the hondas is stock and one has a pipe and jet kit. So from what I have seen on the street and at our track, the yfz's are faster. That is just my personal experience.

Ditch the thumb throttle and get a twist. Get a pipe, rejet and toss the air box lid and hang on like others have said. And don't listen to the Yamaha haters, the YFZ kicks ***.

did you ride all those bikes cause i have exept the z and a 400 can't even come close if the same rider rides them.
And honda are slow if you you don't open the engine
