I am thinking of purchasing this cam, what kind of power can I expect? Also does it decrease the reliability of the motor??? I currently have a yoshi full exhaust, K&n airfilter and the airbox lid removed . any help would be appreciated.

I dont know man, my buddy has an 04' with a yoshi slip on, hot cams stage 2 kit, k&n fitler , jetting, lid removed, lsr extended axle, and 18" razr mx's. my 05' completely stock besides the baffle out of the pipe feels better than his. i dont know why, but the cams on these things really dont make that much of a difference on the 450. just my opinion, but i think you would be better off with a high compression piston first, then if you want the cam, the combo of these two would both compliment eachother rather well.

go for it. it'll pull your arms out of socket. When I rode with jersey450r I had my stock exhaust on. Now I'm running the TC and it's got plenty of arm pulling power.

If you want MX power go with a 04 crf cam from service honda thats a very good cam for the TRX

I mostly do open trail riding, mixed with some dunes.

From what I've heard, either the sparks or the hotcam II.

I'm from Bristow, Oklahoma man....did ya go to SandFest this weekend? Anyways to the point of this discussion, I have the Stage II hotcam in my 450R along with a JE 11.5:1 piston with sparks exhaust, filter, and open airbox. Runs strong! I was happy over-all....I run MX though so i havent had much experience on the trails with it except at Appalachia Bay and below Keystone dam a few times but it seemed to work well for me. At the dunes this weekend it was great with these mods. Your major power gains are going to be in the mid-range, my quad pulls really hard 3rd and 4th gear.

I also got to dyno my quad at SandFest this weekend and i was able to squeeze 43.25 HP out with these mods. The dyno guy gave me a few jetting specs to try out and he said he's almost positive that I should be able to get 45 HP.

It was DynoWorks outta Wichita, its NMotions dyno as far as I know. It was awesome to do though, really cool experience to see your quad dynoed.

The guy basically told me that he would move the clip up 1 on the needle to lean it out a tad and bump back up to a 190 main jet. I'm running a 185 main jet right now with stock pilot/needle and it runs great but he says it'd run better and i'd squeeze it out to 45 HP so i'm going to try it before the next TQRA race.

shouldnt you get more hp with all that done to it.....the bike stock is 38 right

According to the guy running the dyno and another guy that owns a shop here in town who has a dyno....they've only been getting around 42-45 HP outta TRXs with piston/cam mods depending on the cam and piston used. The DynoWorks guy at Sandfest said that it was where he estimated the HP would be.

My buddy got his TRX dynoed here in town and his put out 38 HP. He only has a full DMC exhaust, filter, jetting, and open airbox soooo. I've always heard that stock TRX was like 35 HP and the YFZ being at like 36 or 37 HP.
