Make sure the carb opens 100% when the throttle is pinned. Pull off the back boot from the carb and look in when adjusting the throttle. I know exactly what youre talking about. Just as long as the carb opens 100%, and does not stick, it should be fine. Mine is like that. What kind of carb is it?

I adjust everything... the top of the carb screw, the throttle body cable adjustment, and if the cable has an adjuster in itself.. that too...

You guys need to make sure it opens till the cutaway on the slide is exactly flush w/ the venturi of the intake tract, anymore it will affect turbulance, also throws jetting off and its not quite what you think it is...it wont be true, hope you follow what Im trying to say...

This goes w/ any carb w/ a slide...
