sproket and mph

I got my 14 tooth sprocket today. How many mph's faster will it be compared to the 13 tooth? Everything is stock including the tires. It's a 300EX.

u will gain around 5 mph and lose alot of low end...

i have a 96 300ex. when i drive it the chain or something makes a dragging noise. would it because of the chain loose. if so how do u tighten the chain

That is a cool calc... you find it to be accurate??
I guess its math but sometimes that doesn't equate to real world..

First off you won't lose a lot of low end. Just a little. And you do gain about 5 mph or so. I think mine is perfect now, I dont see why Honda doesnt do it that way stock. Brad_300EX if you put on a 14 tooth sprocket, then you have to mill down the case saver, the chain is probably grinding against it.

I was riding my 300 one day and the chain wasnt making any noises. But the chain was really loose and it came off while I was riding. I went and put it back on and when i took off i could hear this rattling sort of noise that got louder the faster I got. I got off to inspect it and I had pt the chain under the chain roller on accident and when i put it back over it it didnt rattle anymore. I dont know if this is what is wrong with yours but You could just cheack and see.

u know what the sad thing is here jeff (dirtwheelsmag) u probaly arent in a rush u just DONT pay attention in class..im gonna start throwing MORE books at u now:D
