so when is everyone starting the winter rebuild?

as it says^^^^ i think imma start mine mid november...be done in time for the exriders competition...then rip it up in FEB on some ice....imma do alot of work this winter...hope it pays off....no powdercoating though...unless i can win a placing in the build off,otherwise mom doesn't want me to waste even more money:huh lol how bout you guys/girls when you starting?

Not really a winter rebuild... winter here happens to be just little rainy in the low to mid 60's.. perfect weather. Anyways though.. I'm starting mine as soon as my R sells, and purchasing a Ktm 520 dirtbike; I'm going to part everything out but 1 major item and its components... can you guess that item:D Then... by late october, mid november I'll have an order placed with walsh, just buying a few small things :devil: I'm projecting to be done by april or march... hopefully sooner.:)

Just change the frame color to black chrome, and minus decals. She is only 5'3" so if it seems tall.. it's cause she is short.:devil:

This is what I'll be starting with..

Picture this: A blank stand.

As soon as I sell my R.. there will be a ktm 520 dirtbike being ripped apart in my garage. Then just the motor will be left after ebay. Then picture just a motor for 3 months while I wait on deliver from walsh. Then axis and the such to follow in the months after.

well, i was forced to start early due to a broken frame....does that count:confused: :D , but i took all the plastic off today, not getting too involved, already have enough torn apart now, my brothers ozark....rear end went out,.....400ex, just finishing the rebuild and my dads eiger has a torn cv boot so thats gonna be a 1/2 day project coming up:rolleyes: . soon as that alls finished, the 400 will be sold and ill have a predator to be envied:D

probaly the beginning or mid november ill start mine, firs tthing im doing is stripping it down and send the frame to walsh for some gussets and pc, then getting a elka rear shock and linkage and gpr/roll steering stem setup maybe a few other things ill have to see id like to have it ready to ride by march

be starting mine right after the iron man, not doing much, mainly just want to tear it down to give the frame and swingarm new pc. should also have a pipe by the time thr builder competion is done and reeds and a air filter. working on a wider axle and a set of hipers also

November, gonna try to get shocks serviced and do powdercoating done but that will only be determined if i get the other quad sold. Other wise i'm just gonna tear it down and go through everything plus a new bumper. Anything else and i'll be in too much debt lol.

my 300 will be getting completely torn apart around october or november.. get the shocks serviced, pc put on alot of parts, and the motor is gonna be changed drastically, but no info will be revealed on that part of the project. :)

Almost my whole quad is getting done accept a couple things....But I can tell u wuts gettin done to the motor but the rest u will have to wait and see that POS...

MOTOR: 13:1 JE Piston, Webcams cam, Porting and Polishing to the head....:D Cant wait...but thats a good $600-$700 with parts and Labor or more...

But the quad is getting a make-over to !!

i started mine today but i cant really call mine a rebuild because im just going to keep adding things as i get the money and doing whatever i can to make it nice. i am not stripping it to the frame this year so i wont have all of the things i need before the end of winter. im planning on having everything done and good NEXT winter lol. and im just doing the basic suspenion mods. but hey im working hard so it will pay off. i can not wait to see what kind of rebuilds are going to be done this year.

I started my rebuild last weekend. Took two hours to completly tear down my 450r. I also labeled all the parts in case for some reason I have a couple laying around after I am done putting it back together. It is going from stock to MX style.

When you live in Wis. you either ride snowmobiles in the winter, or spend it building/rebuilding.
I generally dont ride snowmobiles.:D

for the 300ex, new rear plastics, and maybe a bigger carb, and remove the rev limiter

for the trx300fw add a pipe and k&n power up kit to make it plow the snow easier

i picked up a moto-4 225 for 20 bucks so my boss and i will put the motor back together

and i am thinking about getting an atc185 that runs a1 for $125 he wants 150 but i will talk him down, maybe take it appart and redo the whole thing
