cr80 plus $1000 for 400ex good deal?

Yeah do you guys think my cr80 with mods in sig plus brand new in the box v force reeds stock pipe and silencer,and a top end sproket. Plus a $1000 for a 01 400ex with razor back tires,handguards,swing arm skid and nearly brand new stock back tires. Is it a good deal to trade my 02 cr80 plus $1000 for it? I mean its kind of beat it has lots of sratches alittle deeper than normal wear and tear ones,a broken fender bracket,a slightly dented front rim,and the handel bars are bent.

Well, from what It sounds like... he didn't take care of it too much. Look at the air filter. Thats a good way to tell if it was maintained or not because it is really easy and simple maintenence. Just check the frame for any cracks because it sounds like he got into alot of accidents :p . If all that passes I think it sounds like a good deal because those few things are only minor problems...

It has good bearing i check them they have no play at all. He also said it has new brake pads,oil change,and servered not to long ago all done buy the shop. He says a guy came to test ride it rolled it and bent the handel bars. I relly wanted a 400ex with a pipe and stuff after i seen how awsome my friends runs.

i would do it, maybe ask the guy if he would go any lower than 1000, like the cr and 900 or 850 since it has those minor problems. but if not i would still problably do the trade, get a nice set of bars. get a new bracket, and either leave it or get a new rim and youll be set. 400ex's are reliable quads and you really have to beat them down and pretty much try maintain them wrong for it to have big problems

Sounds like a decent trade... As long as the 400ex dosnt have major problems (cracked frame, motor damage, etc...)

Definately try to get down to like $900, $850... Say its to replace the handlebars, and maybe steering stem...

Im asuming a kid owns the 400ex?

considering ur cr80 is worth 1300$ or so and the 400 is worth atleast 2800$ i'd say yes;)

I see it more liek this $1500 and the 400ex worth $2200-$2500. If i was to give him $1000 to me it would be like giving him the $2500 that he wants for it. Also i relly want to get one that has mods with it already. If i give him even $800 plus my cr i will be borke. Thats means no money to even buy new handel bars. Also my grizzly needs new tires for winter mine are bald and i don't relly wnat to have to pay $20 to get the outlaws back on the rims when i will just be taking them back off the rims after winter and selling them . THere a like 5 more 400exs in the traders guide this week. So i am going to call and see if they will take a trade on my rancher or cr.

Does anyone else have anything to say? I think i might hit this guy up on the offer after i check the other ex's out. I want to take it for a ride again and see if it will pull the tires off in 2nd and 3rd gear.

I just talked it over with my dad. I think i am just going to get a snowmobbile he says he will talk it over with my mom tonight. Then i can just keep trying to sell my dirtbike and then just save money up and wait till after winter to get another quad. Also my dad says he doens't even like that 400ex its pretty beat and i will only be able to ride it another month or snow. ONce winter hits sport quads don't go any where but around the yard and most of the time they can't even do that. The reason i want to get rid of my dirtbike is it is way to hard on gas i can't go far or else i will run out and wont be able to get ome. Also i am not a real big fan of them and i can't do much on one.
