View Full Version : Swing ARM PIVOT BOLT!!!!

wELL i am currently taking the quad apart and having an ISSUE with the swing arm pivot bolt can someone help me with this... i been hammering on it... even with a sledge hammer.... PLEASE HELP!@!!!!!

Good luck!!!If it has been awhile since you last lubed the pivot bolt (you did lube it before right?)things could get ugly.I have seen the 'ol plasma cutter pulled out to help solve the problem.I have even heard of people cutting them out with a saw zaw.I would tilt it up on it's side and drowned it in some sort of penatrating oil(WD-40).You can make a puller if you have access to a welder.

i was gonn ask you about this when you told me you were tkaing your quad apart to the frame...im about to take my swingarm bolt off too & regrease it on my 450r...i wonder is se will put up a fight>?

a 30lbs impact and PB blaster oil stuff worked wonders on mine, after it not being oiled for 4 years:devil:

You people wouldnt have so many problems if u would grease bolt shaft more often:huh

OK guys i got the bolt out I didnt have to cut it.... it just took some hard work to it but its all good now... thanks for the replys :D

i got mine out of my 450r no problem..it was really easy..i put alot of white lithium grease on it & inside the spot where it goes

I should be sending it out today... I'm getting it in translucent blue :cool: and no im not getting it gusseted.

Oh hell yeah. The PB Blaster is the best out there. Expensive but worth every penny. I used an old bent tie rod and a BFH and it came out fine. Lubed it up good and will every few months from now on.

Some may already know but there is a stainless steel pivot bolt available for the 400 but it costs around $60. Just incase you didn't know.
