shock for 88r fit a 86 r right?

well i might be getting a shock for my r but it is from a 88 and my r is a 86 and i know the swingarms are different so will this work

no it will not work, they are differnt legnth's
you will need to get an 88 linkage to make it FIT but even then it will not be valved correctly
