yesturday i was going to go riding w/ my neighbor but i didnt have any gas , he sad I could use his, he said it was 91 oct. when i fist put it in it started fine but when i started riding & would stop w/ the group it would die. then it would be hard as hell to het it started again! i have no idea wat was going on. i ussually put 87 in it will a higher octane make it act up?? everytime i would slow down & put it in to 3rd or lower after being 5th pin for a while it would just die?? the only thing i could think was that it was the gas, becuz thats the only thing new, i also put on a twist throttle on a day b4 the ride, if that could have screwed somthing up w/ my carb.

also after riding w/ a z400 & yz450f i relized i need somthing bigger, i could keep up w/ them easy on very small straights & though turns but when we hit a straight they were gone.
so im saving for a new quad!

yea probly the gas :( maybe you should drain the tank and then go to the gas station and fill er up new. 91 octane is no problem to use, i would use 93 just because its a better mixture.
and yea good idea savin for a better quad. what i would do is sell the ex right away, ride the rm250 until you get another quad

the rm is apart right now, im thinking aout selling it, but i have to keep the 250ex for my dad to ride. im thinking about getting a z400 or a 99-00 400ex depending on how much money i have. it will be a while tho. paying for insurance, keeping my jeep running, & paying other crap i have no money. i need to find a new job!
im putting my old trx90 in the paper for 1,000 obo. & selling my bikes. i should have 1500 after selling old play toys i have.

already have $22 bucks saved. lol:rolleyes:

the octane has nothing to do with it at all. the gas is probaly stale or has water in it. just drain your tank and fill it back up you should be fine

If your buddy was runnin the same gas as you, and his ride was fine then its obviously not the gas:rolleyes: You said that the gas was the onlything new, but you also said that you put a twwist throttle on the day before you went riding. I think you should check the throttle cable and idle adjustment;)
