Is this 100%. I have a 2001 400ex and was looking to upgrade to the Heavy Duty timing chain. Now people tell me the 450 chain is the same as the Heavy Duty.

Does this work?
Do I need to replace Sprocket?
Is it for sure more Heavy Duty?

also, the price difference was unusually different and I'm wondering if its correct.

trx400ex:
service honda part #14401-KCY-671 CHAIN, CAM $65

trx450r:
service honda Part #14401-MEB-671 CHAIN, CAM (112L) $26.84

$65 to $26

Is this right????
seems to good to be true????

you guys have been helpful, thanks

hey man, quit double posting all your posts, these are all powertrain threads, so lets keep them in there

as far as the chain goes, yes it's true, i've been running the chain for a year now with no problems or any signs of abnormal wear, the crf chain is quite abit more durable than the ex's your can see a major difference the plates are thickier and each row has one more plate than the ex's, somone while back compared the crf chain to an actual ex heavy duty chain that the engine builders sell and couldn't tell a difference, i think it was pud puller (bill fuller), but i don't remember for sure
