Well i went down the store around 11 to get the stuff i needed, spent a whopping $7.. lol. Then i polished the rear bumper (turned out really nice), my front bumper, clutch and break lever then decided to do the subframe. Took awhile to take the subframe off, strip the paint, polish it then put it back together. I got down around 6:30. I know a professional could do a heck of alot better job but hey it only cost $7 and an aching back. :)

I'm not an expert on this, but won't the sub frame start to rust now that you took the paint off? I polished my stock Z-400 axle with a demmel and I never even took it out for a ride and it started to rust. If it doesn't rust then I might have to try that.

I dont think your axle is aluminum. Im no expert either but idont think aluminum rusts all that much or if it even does i dont know. I think polished aluminum parts just will start to fade (oxidize??) like a tarnished kind of look. With polished aluminum parts you just gotta re-polish every once in a while.

Ive over wheelied and scratched my rear bumper alittle and it never started to rust. I think if the bumper was anything besides aluminum it wouldve.

I only woods ride but it isnt too muddy around here, just dusty. You could just use mothers car polish after you wash it each time and you should be fine.

On your rims and nerfs just go down to your auto parts store and buy a can of Eagle One Never Dull polish, its in a silver can. In five minutes of polishing with that stuff my rear bumper was like a mirror, it works really good.

I believe on the quad that they all are aluminum except for the quick change cover...

mirror like finish with eagle one. that sounds great but dont the rims have a protective coating on them. i was thinking of polishing my nerfs and bumper but tis alot of work and i'll probably save it for winter !

Valve cover and quick change cover is Magnesium! If ya can find a buffing pad and some bars of rouge (sp) you can use a grinder to polish its much easier.

I get all the stuff I need to polish from my local Peterbuilt truck dealer.

Looks good once its polished its easier to maintain just a quick polish and its good. Not like the initial strain of polishing>

I did a quick job on my AC front bumper and i could tell a difference. If you spent alittle bit of time on them they will probably look better then new.

I dont know about the rims, but your probably right.

I polished my case, kick start, and shifter. The case is the most difficult because of all the highs and lows. When buying polish RESEARCH what your buying. Alot of the stuff in auto stores has agents that will polish but also create easier oxidation. Look for Jewlers Rouge. There are several levels of rouge that will lead to mirror finishes. Also be sure to invest time prepping your surface or your outcome wont be as good.
