My front brakes keep locking up on me gradually as I ride.. It seems as if pressure gets built up in my brake line after a riding for a bit. After a while I can't pull on my brake lever anymore and the brakes are almost fully locked.

Would this be caused by air in the brake line? I figured I wouldn't have any brakes at all if that were the case.

Also, If I loosen the bolt on the top of the brake caliper (either side), it seems to release the pressure and the brakes work normally again... for a while.

I drive a 400EX, has anyone seen this before?

Do you have a stock Brake lever??

Taco's was doing this same thing at the last hatfield ride and his adjustable brake lever was tightening itself up and causing the brakes to lock the F up... I just about ran him over when he decided to stop in the middle of the trail...:eek2:

Your brake hose might have an internal split in it making it act like a one way checkvalve letting fluid down to the caliper but not back up to the master cylinder, it's not very common though.
