Anyone know the rear shock lenght of a 300ex and the rear shock lenght of a 350x:confused:   ???
Also, is it true that a 350x swingarm with spacers will fit on a 300ex and if yes, what lenght it is compared to a 300ex swingarm??? I know their is post about this, but I want to be 100% sure, so if someone did that conversion, please let me know!

Yes, the 350X swingarm and shock bolts up to the 300ex with spacers. If I remember right it is around 2" longer.

punker69q,

I just put a 350x swing arm on my 300ex last night. In measuring the 300ex and 350x swing arm at the pivot point I found that the 350x is 11/16 of an inch shorter. I made two spacers that were 11/32 inches thick to make up the difference and place one on each side of the 350x swing arm. However, once I installed them I noticed that the shock was sitting a an ever so light angle. At first I dismissed it as an illusion. However, after further investigation I found that the 300ex swing arm mounts on the frame are not centered on the frames center line. To counter this I put both spacers on the left side of the 350x swing arm and things are very close to correctly aligned now.

yeah you may have the shock lined up but are u sure the sprockets will line up?? may have to use some washers on the rear sprocket bolts

TRX_Thumper,

It is interesting that you ask. Yes, putting both spacers on the left side lines the sprokets up better too. I failed to mention that in my previous post. Thanks for bringing it up.

It is worth mentioning that I have a 350x engine in the frame too. I used the mounting spacers provided by Powroll to do the installation. The kit offered by Powroll did an excellent job of lining the 350x engine up making the sprockets alligned in that case too.

im doin the same..350x motor in my 300 frame..maybe you could measure the length of the spacers for me and tell what mount they go on?

The information I told everyone previously about putting both spacers on the left side of the 350x swing are pivot bolt when installing it on the 300ex (or 250x) frame as not correct. The demensions I gave before were correct, but one should be on both sides (evenly) for this application. I don't know what I was looking at before, but this afternoon I looked again, and took several messurment. 11/32 on each side is the key. It makes everything line up just right.

The answer to the lenght of the 300ex and 350x swing arms is, center (of the axel) to center (of the pivot point):

-300ex: ~15.25 inch
-350x: ~16.5

The length of the shocks is not quite the same, but also a little irrelivant since the shocks mount up at different point on their respective swing arms. The 300ex mounts up on the time side of the swing arm and the 350x, via a bracket, on the bottom.
