renthal handlebars

I just got a 450r and i got renthals for it, but i cant put my key in very well without moving the plastic peice around the crossbar pad, the plastic peice is also very loose on the renthals because they are thinner than the stock ones.Does anyone have renthals on their 450. If so please show me a picture

Drill a hole in the plastic just below the handlebars.

I had the key out because I was working on it, but you can see the key hole, and it should give you a good idea on what to do.

EDIT: I know you asked for a pic of a 450 but this is close enough.

i just zip tied mine to the steering stem, then i removed it once i got my kill switch.
