yea thats what they thought in the late 80's before they were almost banned, if they get banned again it will be for good.

why are they making atvs with these big motors? polaris has a new 4x4 with a 800cc motor, just stupid.

stupid people riding over their heads on the old trikes, 250r's and lt250 put a huge dent and set the atv world back 10 yrs. both 450's are faster then the raptor plus what do you need that power anyway if your playing in the woods riding in 2nd or 3rd gear? you will never be able to open it up, unless your in the dunes.

That's the rumor, just hope it comes true this year.

They will have a 400ex too. It will probably get piggyback shocks and reverse. I hope it stays air cooled, KISS [keep it simple stupid]

400ex= first to start, last to break.

well it will have insane power but the R will probally still be faster. the 650 with just be so much more torquier. it would make an awsome trail bike with the rite gear ratios.

I wouldn't say that a 650ex would be SLOWER than a 450R, I would say that a 650ex might not be as QUICK as a 450R. It would be easy for Honda to make a 650ex FASTER than the 450R just as it makes the XR650 faster than the CRF450.


All I know is that a 650ex would be the best duner ever made.

It just needs to stay under 375lbs w/ E-start and Reverse.

[side note: I don't need nor care if it has reverse but Honda needs to include reverse on it if they want to dominate the showroom shootouts]

What about the engine out of the XR650R/XR650L Dual sport??? I have never ridden one so dont ream me here for thinking about a less than potent engine?? I know this bike/engine combo has been around a while not sure if it is quite outdated?? has anyone ever ridden this big thumper is it a powerful motor??? good power band??? anyone ever seen one stuffed in a quad frame??? just a thought....

thats what the new 650ex/r was supposed to be. i have seen a 400 with the 650 motor in it. i dont remember which one is which but one is liquid and one is air cooled. the one i saw was liquid cooled. it ran good but got out of the hole way late. he was messed up in his gearing though i think. he dyno'd it at 65hp and 101mph. when i was down at the dunes and saw him, i was out with my uncle draging just the 2 of us, this guy pulled up and it looked like a ol' pos 400ex that hadnt been takin care of. well the hand dropped and me and dan left him like he was standing still, then at close to the end of the drag he flew by us like we were standing still. then we noticed the radiator. and talked to him. he had just put it together the night before. with the right gearing i bet it would be a bad machine.
i posted this thread just to show the effort that is going into the 450r by companies. i dont see why people are bashing NMotions creation because people might of though putting a tri-cylinder motor in a banshee was stupid, but they are killers on the drag strip. or a 521pv motor. there are many different motors out for all of the fast sport quads, most of them have taken a lot of time to produce. NMotion was just cutting to the chase with the 450r, by making a possible 600cc big bore kit for it.

a 600 or 650 ex/r would either have to be faster...with much less power like the XR 650L, or on the other hand, would have to be slower with mad power and torque. they would have to get everything dialed in perfect including gear ratios, HP, bore and stroke, etc. to make the 600/650 perform like a 450R does. i'm sure many people agree with this.

how can you be so sure have you raced a 450r with a big bore kit? The 450r has only been out for a short period of time unlike the 250r with its tons of aftermarket parts.

If you read my sig you wouldnt have to ask that. CRF = CRF450 motor. 500 = CC's.

Those bikes are sick! I never said anything about his bike being junk I was just wondering about a hooked up 450r vs a 250r Im not a pro about all this sorry!
