Went to the cycle shop today and bought a 13 tooth front sprocket for my 00 400ex so I can get out of the curves faster on the flat track. Bought a JT racing 1401-13 sprocket. Part # and everything exactly what the book calls for on my bike. took it home and it would not go on the shaft cause it was to small. took it back to the shop and the guy compared it with the other Jt racing sprockets he had there. They were all the same. Got a parts unlimited 13 tooth sprocket and it fit perfectly. Oh JT needs to machine his products a little more carefully.

:huh hmmmm, well both mine went on with no problems so have all my buddies with a roughly large hammer of corse, i see no reason for you to come on here and down the product, can't say i've even heard of this happening, and if it does it's surely not enuff to try to give the product a bad rap

i have never talked to anyone who ran a 13 on a 400ex. i know the 14 is common, but with a 13 you must really loose some up top.

Ive also never heard of anyone running a 13 on a 400ex. You must be in 5th gear within like 200 feet....

yes it does go through the gears fast and I did lose alot of top end. It has some take off now though. On the track I ride on you hardly ever get out of 3rd or 4th so top end doesn't matter much its how fast you can exit turns and accelerate. If I ride woods or mx I would gear it 14/38
