Noisy Starter

Actually, I don't think its the starter motor, its the whole cranking over sound. Like nothing at all is lubricated. Clanky sounding (not grinding). It starts and runs fine, normal sounding motor. Just when the button gets pushed. Normal?

I would take off the 4, 8mm bolts, and have a look at the gears. Look for wear, or abnormal looseness, or slop.

Grease?....:huh , Its an oil bath, I was thinking gears = grease :D Anyway, no damage, must be normal.
