450r into a 400ex

does anybody know if a 450r motor will fit in a 400ex frame, it looks like it will be close you might have to move the motor mounts. also how much do they cost new ?

Ialso wonder if you have to get a custom pipe made for it. I think it could work! so my next question is how much is the engine and will it be worth it let me know what you guys think

I'd say that if you have alot of money into the suspension of your 400ex, and if it handles really good then go for it. And the engine will fit. People have done the conversion with the crf engine, so why wouldnt the 450r engine fit. Also spending mabey like 3 grand or however much it costs for a 450r engine and mounts is still alot cheaper than buying a new 450r, and your will alo have something that handles better, given that you got aome good shocks and whatnot on it.
