i got about $7,500.....any suggestions?

ive got about $7,500 and am planning on spending it all on a quad. its gunna be for mostly trail riding(big trails with little hills/dips) prolly like 5" of mud some days and grass and on the road.

im either gunna get a smaller one and a cheaper bigger one. like getting a 05 blaster a quadsportZ250 or a 05 250EX and a 05 400EX or even a 05 bruin 350 auto 4X4 incase i go someplace else where i may need 4X4.

or im gunna get a bigger more expensive one like a 05 raptor 660R or a 2005 YFZ450 or a 2005 Banshee350 (but i heard their not to good on trails) and add some modifications with the rest of the money.

im confused and i dont kno what i should do :confused: so any opinions are apriciated

banshees suck on trails, yfz's bullet corner to corner, but are stiff compared to the raptor. raptors are all torque and ride nice. buy something that you won't grow out of in 6 months. if all i rode were trails, i would get a raptor, pipe/jet, wider axle, swingarm skid, shock covers.

if u got 7 grand go buy a new 05 400ex with the new 450r plastics, and whatever else they changed, and put the rest of the cash into some mod's. Or buy a Z400. You said your trail riding, make sure u buy a trail friendly quad.

get a z 400 or a 400ex either new or used and buy a hmf full with quiet core dont forget to ask for the s/a casue they are free when you get your pipe and if you forget its 5 dollars...... id either get the bb or the reg type, an k and n filter outerwear and dyno jet kit....new tires and skid plates.....hand guards gripper seat cover and maybe some handle bars....

'04 Prairie 700, they run about 6500 now, add Dynatek CDI for $250, Elka front springs for $220, some holeshot ATR radials for about $300 and you are good to go, all of your buddies on the Z400s, 400ex, DVX400 etc will be amazed when they drag race you for 300' and look back for you and notice you are beside them,

thanxs fo rall the input but i think ill just get the Z400 and a 250ex or a blaster and since christmas and my birthday are comin up :D i can buy mods for them both later

and the dealer near me said i can get the Z400 for $5,500 and the blaster for $2,000!!!!! :eek: which is amazing but i can only get the prices like that if i buy both and my dad said hell put in the extra 500$

Banshee's only suck on trails if you suck at riding. But when I feel like going slow I love to ride my wifes 400ex on the trails. If you want speed go with either yfz(350 or 450).
Or if you need 4x4 then a Poo-laris are very comfy and rock through mud.

first buy a z400 dont buy a blaster after that or what ever....youll be wasting your money seeing as you would already have a supirior machine ..... then save up and buy a rancher 350.... and then deck em out...

get a raptor 350 its a sick and fast bike i got one coming soon. ive ridin them before and theyre a great trail bike and theyre fast

sounds like your dealer is trying to throw one of the 02' left over models on you, i wouldnt buy it if thats the case, spend the extra 1000 on an 03 model

yea i think ur right but i went to arcticCat.com and was lookin at them and i saw the 2005 AC 500 4X4 its a 5 speed auto which i like and plus it has 4 wheel drive and its got 12" of ground clearance which is great and fully independent rear suspension so im thinkin bout gettin that so i can ride with my neighbors (660 grizz and a 600sportsman twin) and id still have money to mayb buy a blaster or sumthin like that.

id get the 05 its supposed to have more options and stuff includeing a diff lock... and then get a blaster and mod them....

for the artic cat get some

light weight mud tires and some aluminum rims.....

a k and n filter and skids

for the blaster id get some mx tires some t 9 wheels and nerfs bumpers and a toomey pipe.

yea thats what i was thinkin get the 2005 AC 500 4X4 cause ppl said that the 02-03's around there had problems w/ the 4 wheel drive and then get the blaster and mod the hell out of it lol with any money i earn. and plus id have both a sport and a ute quad so i could goof around in my backyard (which is like an acre) wheeling and stuff like that and then when i want to go trail ridin i have the AC and ill get a winch on it mayb

If you want a banshee, get one. I know there not good for trail riding but there is a pipe out there too help out the low end for a banshee. You can get a 2 into 1 pipe for the banshee that improves low end from DYNO PORT. When your on the gas with this pipe sounds like an indy car.

are banshees powerful or not? like are they able to make it through mud and up muddy hills(if you go fast enough)?

When I had my banshee. It was an 87 and it had these mods for XC: 5.6 gallon fuel tank, cool head, ported, 2 into 1 pipe w/silencer from DYNO PORT, K&N filter, Trinity Racing 2 into 1 carb set up w/34mm kehin carb, works tripple rate shocks up front, denton racing round housing swingarm. Yes the banshee's are powerfull. Just give it gas and you should have no problems going thru mud and up muddy hills.

Just get what ever quad you feel comfortable with. Banshee's aren't for everyone. Plus its two of everything when you got to change the pistons, pipe, carbs. That why I wont get a Raptor. Just hate having to deal with two carbs. 450R is what I want and all I do is trail ride.
