2001 400ex steering is tight. Squeaks real bad where the rubber bushing is up top of the steering stem. Can you grease this. Should I just loosen it or are the bolts held in with locktite. Or should I replace the rubber bushing.
Thanks for the help.

I was having the same problem with my steering, i inserted a washer on both sides, is this going to hurt anything?

I just put the washer on the one side. Rode it yesterday for about an hour what a difference. I wouldn't think it would hurt anything as long as there is no slop .
See ya Bc

As long as theres not a lot of play between the bushing and stem you should be fine. The 1 washer the thickness of a penny was plenty big to loosen up my steering.
