250R fuel tank

Does anyone know if the 86-87 fuel tanks for a 250R will fit right into place on a 88-89 250R?

I am looking to replace my plastic and would like to go with a graphics kit that is blue. If I go that route, I might want to purchase a 87 "Blue" 250R tank to match.

it should all the other plastic is the same between tha years,except for color and honda part number of course. and i think that clarke, and ims list them as tanks for 86-89

all year tanks will fit but the gas cap is different the 86 has a different thread pitch i found out when i bought an 88 tank for my 86 trx and then had to go get a gas cap so if you buy used make sure you get the cap

hmmmmm,,,i did not know about the gas cap....but i do now:D

man if u get the front, and gas tank cover, u really cant see the gas tank color
