I think i need a new clutch, so i was looking at kits from RMATV and i see the EBC kit for 89 and the TUSK for 30. Would i be fine if i just got the TUSK kit? And when i take it apart how do i check my clutch basket and pressure to see if they are ok?

I don't know anything about those clutch kits.

I would go with ForDirtOnly.com kit. I'm sure you can probably get it else where to but... what it is 250r fibers w/ 300ex plates, I think its an 8 plate setup.

Other than that just get a stock clutch.

To check your clutch basket, just visually inspect it. It should be smooth in the slots where the plates and fibers slid in. If it gets bumpy and rough its bad.

Hope that helps...

well common sense tells me that a kit for $30 might not have as much as a kit for $89. maybe it doesnt come with springs or somethin...

theres one that does come with speings and rhey are EBC high quality....its just a little bit more $$$ but good...i was too skeptical about this clutch with how cheap the price was but it is worth it i you are just a recreational rider..i dont know how it would do under racing conditions

How much is the OEM clutch? I love the stocker... I bought my quad new in 2000 put a built 440 in it a 3 months later... and I still have the stock OEM clutch plates in there. The only thing I did was put in stiffer springs.

I tried Barnett's kevlar clutch and it was a turd...

I was just thinking if EBC cost about the same as stock I would go with stock.
