can I hook up a Pro Design tether kill switch directly to the coil on the 450r just like you can on a 250r? or what is the best way to hook one up without cutting wires?

In other post it states that hooking it to the coil will not work..?

They said to trace the black with white striped wire do to some thing and splice it there.

Well that wire goes all over the place so what it did is
Spice in to the black with white striped wire about 4 in form the handle bar switch, and cut the tether wire about 2 in long and splice in. and just ground out the other switch wire. Works like a charm.

I do have a question. While testing the tether kill switch I was running in 3rd and pulled the tether and then I went to but it back in and it shocked the crap out of me. IS this normal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????

You have the switch wired "backwards" and that is causing the shocking. Switch the wiring order you have. You have it where a hot wire is going into the wrong side of the switch and when you touch the shiny silver part of the switch, it bites you.
