Does anyone know if a different fcr carb throttle return spring is available? The thumb throttle is hard to push in after extended riding. Thanks.

Thanks -- i have tried a 400ex one thats seems the best but it is still to hard to push in. I found out about Lost Creek Cycles they said they can make it better,so i sent the carb to them-- we will see when i get it back. I can't wait to try it.

after tearing into the carb the problem would appear to be there is simply to much preload twisted into the stock throttle shaft - spring setup. Preload appears to be in the order of 3/4 turn, reducing the preload by about half that can be easily achieved by attaching the spring to the second tab on the cable drum ! Simple and no cutting of springs (which actually increase the spring rate).

Less preload = significantly less effort to open and hold at part throttle.
